Lisa's Garam Masala

My husband and I enjoy cooking and wanted to try our hand at Indian food.  I knew that store bought Garam Masala had spices that my family didn't like so I made my own.

1/2 cup cumin seeds
1/2 cup corriander seeds
2 tablespoons brown mustard seeds
2 tablespoons allspice
3 cinnamon sticks
2 bay leaves
5 cloves
4 pods green cardamom

Preheat oven to 325
Combine everything on a baking sheet and toast in oven for 15 minutes
Grind to a powder in a mortar and pestle or with an electric spice grinder.  Store in an airtight container for up to 3 months.

Signing off till next time.
